Pulsoid x Crowd Control integration. Use heart rate to trigger exciting in-game effects

Crowd Control is one of the top tools for boosting viewer engagement, allowing audiences to do more than just watch — they get to directly impact the action. By spending bits, channel points, or other currency, viewers can cause in-game events like healing the player, summoning enemies, or dialing up the difficulty. This transforms streams into an interactive experience where the audience takes control, making every moment unpredictable and exciting.

Now, with Pulsoid’s integration, streamers can tie Crowd Control effects to their heart rate, bringing a whole new level of thrill to their gameplay. Imagine the tension as your heart rate climbs past 100 BPM and suddenly — boom! — the game punishes you by triggering a “kill player” command. This connection between the streamer’s physical reactions and the game adds suspense and makes the experience more personal for both the streamer and their audience. It’s a fresh, exciting way to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, making every heartbeat count!

Best of all, the integration is completely free!

How to set up the integration:

Before diving in, make sure your Pulsoid account is set up. If not, check out how to set it up here. You’ll also need to set up Crowd Control to enable heart rate-triggered effects. Once both are in place, you’re ready to create a heart-pounding experience for your viewers!

  1. In the Crowd Control desktop app, select Integrations and choose Pulsoid.

  2. Login to Pulsoid and click “Authorize app”.

  3. Now select a game in the Game Library and head to the Effect Manager. Click Pulsoid Triggers and Add New.

  4. Set up a new trigger for an effect!

  5. When you are ready to go, press Start Session and you should notice your heart rate in the bottom right corner of the Crowd Control app.

Now when your heart rate moves above or below the BPM, for the time you set, the effect will trigger! It will be able to trigger again after the cooldown is run out. Try out different effects and experiment with settings like "rises above" or "falls below" for even more fun!
